‘Ylime – Seasons’ Solo’19

‘Place and season are parallel threads among the exhibited works; an ongoing series of still lives which chart time and place at both a surface and philosophical level, set alongside imaginary figurative compositions based upon actual dreams which act as a subconscious timeline.’

‘Her work appears light-hearted, lush and lyrical, using watercolours, gouache and crayon on paper and most recently painting in oils on canvas and board.’

‘Capturing time’s shift and in her attempt to ground herself through painting is the real subject of the works, a distillation of life, the table which holds these objects of the everyday becoming a platform to gather the threads of life, to stop, drink it in, absorbing both memory and the now. it has been a year of changes and growth for her as a painter and a person and it seems that painting now is her homing device, the place where she can both play and be grounded. ‘
