The First Few Creepy Crawlies

I have begun making my insects and have created these. I have to be careful when handling them as they are very delicate (especially the legs). I need to ensure that each bug has a hole on its underside in the centre, which will allow me to attach it onto the wires that will be located inside the drawers, making them more 3d when placed inside. I want the viewers to interact with the pieces, picking each one up and by making this hole for the wire, the piece becomes more readily hands on. I feel that a hole (which is very small) will look much cleaner than using a tube attached prior to glazing,  and should help the clay insect appear more realistic. Now to make lots more and see how they cope with the firing. I am currently working with white grog, which allows me to sculpt small things with more ease and accuracy.
