Kiln Meeting

The closer it is getting to the degree show, the harder it is becoming to book a kiln. The technicians are very good at working out a fair rota for the next week but there are so many people and not so many kilns. There have also, unfortunately, been a few kilns breaking down over the last week, putting the pressure on even more. At the moment I am not feeling too concerned about my pieces as they are being bisque fired and there are a few bisque firings planned in the big kilns. But this could change and if time becomes tight I have considered painting  my pieces with watercolours rather than a glaze, despite people in my gap crit advising against it. I will just have to work as hard as I can to get my work finished sooner, to allow me more time for firing.
