Islamic gardens inspiration

On our tour, on Sunday, we were told about Islamic gardens. They were built to be paradises and are a cool place for reflection and thought. They always contain four plant beds, each representing a season. These beds are separated by four straight rivers or paths. These rivers or paths represent the milk, honey, wine and water of paradise and all lead into a central fountain or water feature.

I think that this is such a a beautiful Idea, I am particularly interested and intrigued by the seasonal plant beds, which I feel makes the gardens timeless. I think that I would like to tie this garden idea into my project as I feel that it will give me more structure to work on. I will research into seasonal flowers that will help join my interest in Moroccan flowers and wood painting with the holy seasons.
