reflection on William Morris

I’ve taken a look back to William Morris’s work as a reflection on my own. I have used flowers as a main influence in my personal field project this last term, causing me to take a much greater interest in William Morris’s work.

His beautiful use of flowers throughout his work is truly inspiring (i tried painting some flowers and lets just say it didn’t go too well). i constantly strive for the realistic in my pieces, but William Morris reminds me that this is not necessary. His highly stylized images border on cartoonish, while incorporating elegance and bright, bold colours.

William Morris also inspires me through his sheer amount of work he produced. The more the merrier!
